Please remember:
- To apply for the President position, you must first have been an Executive.
- To apply for the Executive positions, you must have first attended a conference with MUNSA before - meaning having travelled to a conference with MUNSA or attended UBCMUN. This is not a requirement for appointed positions.

President

Detailed Description
The President's primary role is to oversee the general operations of the club, co-ordinate with relevant VP's on their portfolios and duties, and set the club's direction for the upcoming academic year. Ad hoc duties include applying for grants, advising VP's on their duties and assisting VP's as and when required.

VP Academic

Detailed Description
The VP Academic creates a yearlong training schedule for conferences, selects delegates and head delegates for conferences, assists head delegates in planning and coordinating training sessions, liaises with delegates via email, attends MUNSA training sessions. The VP Academic also works alongside VP Logistics and VP Finance in order to estimate and confirm conferences costs and transportation options. Overall, they ensure that the MUNSA conference experience is educational, inclusive, and safe.

VP External

Detailed Description
The VP External handles all of MUNSA's external relations, this includes collaborations with other club and communications with other MUNSA partners such as event venues and foundations. As part of external relations the VP coordinates all social media presence and promotion for the club, managing the club's Twitter and Facebook accounts. Finally, the VP External works closely with the Director of Fundraising to create a fundraising plan for the year and helps the Director logistically implement those fundraisers

VP Internal

Detailed Description
The VP internal handles the inner workings of the club including organizing club meetings, writing minutes, taking care of the club office space and coordinating office hours. The VP also coordinates communication between executives through Facebook and via Google Docs and overall ensures the organizational efficiency of the club. The VP Internal is also in charge of membership including attracting new members on clubs days, keeping track of members, mailing lists and waiver forms and distributing membership cards. On this front, the VP Internal is responsible for organizing activities for members such as study sessions and board game nights in coordination with the VP External and VP Logistics.

VP Finance

Detailed Description
The VP Finance is in charge of keeping accounts of records of transactions and documents, cross referencing and proofing financial documents between internal and external sources, drafting grant/scholarship/sponsorship letters with the Undersecretary to the VP Finance, VP External, VP Logistics, Director of Grants and Director of Fundraising, contacting and visiting the AMS for various purposes, including depositing money, ordering cheques/bank orders, reimbursing students, short-term loan requests, etc., cash handling, counting, and depositing money during club events, proposing fundraising ideas, drafting budgets during the summer, and ensuring proper handling of club expenditures throughout the school year.

VP Logistics

Detailed Description
The VP Logistics is responsible for all the logistical issues in the club; regarding conferences (booking flights, hotel accommodations, etc) and booking classroom space for MUNSA events. The VP Logistics also works closely with the VP Finance and Director of Grants for the financial aspect. When planning logistics for conferences, the VP Logistics works closely with the Head Delegate of the conference to organize around their preferences and with the Director of Conferences regarding one-day conferences. Finally, the VP Logistics also works closely with the VP External and the Director of Fundraising regarding events for the club.

For our other positions - Undersecretaries and Directors - the executive staff for the new year will vote upon these positions during their first executive meeting.

Undersecretary of VP Academic
Assists VP Academic with their duties, often including helping organize seminars and helping with Head Delegates.

Director of Fundraising
Underneath the VP External; responsible for organizing fundraising and social events throughout the year for the club.

Director of Grants
The Director of Grants is responsible for aiding the President in applying for various grants from the AMS and other UBC organizations. Several key grants include the Walter H. Gage Memorial and the Global Fund, whose deadlines typically fall in the start of second semester. Preparation work and applications for such grants must be promptly completed.

Director of Design
Responsible for the creation of promotional graphics for the club. Please provide a portfolio for consideration!

Conference Coordinator
The One-Day Conference Coordinator is in charge of arranging MUNSA’s one-day conferences (at minimum, one conference per semester). This includes handling committee details, delegate affairs, and conference logistics. Duties related to committees including choosing committees and topics, as well as hiring and coordinating conference staff members (dais and crisis staff). Delegate affairs consist primarily of handling delegate assignments and registration, as well as answering delegates’ questions. The Conference Coordinator works with the VP Logistics and VP External to handle the conference’s logistical duties, which include arranging venue bookings for the conference and related events (e.g. post-conference social) and promoting the event.

Undersecretary of VP Internal
Assists VP Internal with their duties, such as organization for AGMs, clubs days, and Imagine Day. Duties will be determined by the VP Internal.

Undersecretary of VP Finance
Assists the VP Finance in duties such as bookkeeping, cash counting, fundraising, and budget drafting. Although he or she does not hold the VP Finance’s signing officer authority, the Undersecretary of VP Finance may represent the VP Finance’s vote in any executive meetings where the VP Finance is not present. To assist the VP Finance, the Undersecretary of VP Finance must also possess financial reporting skills, spreadsheet experience, and ethical conscientiousness.

Undersecretary of VP Logistics
Assists VP Logistics with their duties, such as creating suggested travel guides for the Head Delegates and keeping club minutes when the VP Logistics is absent.

Undersecretary to the President
Assists the President with their duties. Duties will be determined by delegation by the President during the year.

The Diversity & Equity Office works to support the MUNSA community in fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all members. The office is accountable for ensuring that MUNSA events and training sessions are facilitated in a way that is inclusive and respects differences in culture, age, ancestry, colour, family status, marital status, physical and mental disability, place of origin, political belief, race, religion, sex (including gender and pregnancy), and sexual orientation.
